Sony Pictures has dropped the official trailer for their upcoming film, Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
In the fourth Ghostbusters film trailer, we meet Callie, who is known as the daughter of the founder of the Ghostbusters, Dr. Egon Spengler. She is conversing with a teacher named Mr. Grooberson about her decision to move her family from Chicago to a small town called Summerville. She worries about her timid daughter Phoebe and hopes that a fresh start will do her some good.
When they arrive at their late grandfather’s farmhouse in Summerville, Callie’s son Trevor repairs an old station wagon that he finds in the garage. As he drives around, we can see the original Ghostbusters logo printed on the back of the car. Throughout their time in town, strange things start happening. Dr. Grooberson also declares that “a town with no-fault lines is shaking on a daily basis.”
For the rest of the trailer, we see creatures and natural disasters striking Summerville. The Mini-Pufts from the teaser makes another appearance too! Together, the gang must defeat the dark forces threatening the town. In the end, they tease an appearance by original Ghostbuster member, Dr. Ray Stantz.
Directed by Oscar award-winning director Jason Reitman, the film’s stacked cast includes Carrie Coon (Callie), Mckenna Grace (Phoebe), Finn Wolfhard (Trevor), Paul Rudd (Mr. Grooberson), Sigourney Weaver (Dana Barrett), Bill Murray (Dr. Peter Venkman), Dan Aykroyd (Dr. Raymond “Ray” Stantz), Logan Kim (Podcast) Ernie Hudson (Dr. Winston Zeddemore), and Annie Potts (Janine Melnitz).
