Sophia Scott’s Newest Single ”Boots, Jeans, and Jesus” Showcases Her ‘Signature Mix of Sly Humor, Deeply Felt Honesty and Irresistibly Clever Wordplay” (Exclusive)

From Boulder, Colorado to Nashville, Tennessee, Sophia Scott is taking the country music industry by storm.

As of TODAY (July 6th), her brand new single “Boots, Jeans, and Jesus” is available to stream on all platforms, kickstarting a brand new era for the rising country star.

Backstage at the 50th Annual CMA Fest, Sophia dished to Celeb Secrets host Juliet Schroder in an exclusive interview, “I am working on my debut album, which is going to come out later this year, and I have a new single coming out in a couple weeks called ‘Boots, Jeans, and Jesus.’ It’s basically about fighting temptation when you meet a hot cowboy at a bar… It’s kinda like lazy drums, but then like a hard beat guitar. It’s uptempo, windows down, summer vibes.”

“It was actually inspired by a bumper sticker that I saw, but then we wrote it about… I mean, I’ve met lots of hot cowboys, so that wasn’t hard to write,” she concluded with a giggle.

A recent press release revealed that “when it comes to her music, [Sophia] writes from the heart, shoots from the hip and holds nothing back. Instead of retreating, she confronts heartbreak head-on and emboldens audiences with the kind of confidence only earned by a lifelong grind,” and “Boots, Jeans, and Jesus” is no exception.

Serving as a “powerful showcase for Scott’s straight-from-the-heart songwriting and bold but vulnerable vocal work, ‘Boots, Jeans, and Jesus’ tells the tale of lust at first sight and all the internal conflict that comes with it. With her signature mix of sly humor, deeply felt honesty and irresistibly clever wordplay, the Nashville-based artist captures the thrill and danger of temptation with an unforgettable originality.”

The press release continued, “Built on a sparse but potent backdrop of smoldering guitar riffs and hard-driving rhythms, the strutting yet soulful track adorns Scott’s sharply detailed storytelling with so many playful flourishes (bright handclaps, rowdy gang vocals, an infectiously carefree whistle). The result: two and a half minutes of pure unbridled fun, turning Scott’s barstool confession into a fiery statement of unapologetic freedom.”

With this super sassy single out for the world to hear, the budding songstress has barely scratched the surface of all of the new tunes she has on the way, with her debut album currently in the works.

“It’s been a long time coming,” Sophia gushed. “There’s gonna be a lot of songs on it, so some are new [and] some are like three years old. It’s just kind of like picking and choosing my favorites and what was going to compile… I can’t really say what the title is yet just because it’s still fresh, but I’ll announce it later this year if you follow me.”

With a full length album on the horizon, she opened up to Celeb Secrets about the courage it takes for her to release some of her more vulnerable tracks.

In general, “There’s like definitely some songs that I’m a little anxious to come out, but also I’m a songwriter so I feel like that’s my job, and I think all of my greatest inspirations are willing to go there and to speak the truth. It’s like, look at Taylor Swift. She says it like it is and she is Taylor Swift, so yeah,” the emerging country artist shared.

“What I strive to do is to speak to people that have gone through similar situations, and so hopefully I’m able to heal someone, even if I’m hurting possibly one person that I’m writing about,” she concluded passionately.

With even more new tunes on the way, definitely keep Sophia Scott on your radar, and be sure to connect with her on Instagram @sophunky so you do not miss an update about her forthcoming debut album.
