“Superman & Lois” Get Signed For A Second Season After Its First Episode

After a resounding audience turnout and incredible ratings, The CW made the decision to renew DC’s Superman & Lois just after its first episode!

The series premiered its pilot episode on February 23rd and although the episode was 90 minutes long, it was The CW’s largest audience turnout in two years. Deadline reported that The CW calculated that the episode debuted over a million more new viewers, going from 1.7 million to 2.7 million people watching live. It was a no-brainer for the network when it came to the decision of giving the show another season.

The episode follows DC Original characters, Clark Kent/Superman (Tyler Hoechlin), and Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch) as they deal with present-day life with their children and the return to his hometown of Smallville and tackling more real-life storylines within the series in a cinematic format fit for television. They also deal with the struggle of hiding Kent’s superhero identity from his children, debating if they should be let in on the secret or not.

Superman & Lois marks one of the fastest renewals in CW history and we are so excited for what’s to come for the series!
