Tate McRae Reacts to Drew Barrymore Fangirling Over Her at Z100’s Jingle Ball (Exclusive)

Drew Barrymore is just like us — she fangirls over celebs! At Z100’s Jingle Ball in New York on Friday (December 10), Barrymore made sure to tell Tate McRae that she was one of her biggest fans.

After the “u broke me first” singer absolutely killed it on stage at Madison Square Garden for the iconic event, Barrymore came to the press room to tell the Canadian singer-songwriter that she is a fan of her music!

“I loved watching you tonight,” gushed Barrymore to McRae. “And I was cheering you on, and you move so beautifully, and you sound so beautiful and my daughters and I were just marveling at you.”

McRae, soaking in the moment, then admitted to Barrymore that she was “fangirling” herself.

“Me too,” exclaimed Barrymore. “Right back at you. We’re twinning on fangirling.”

Meanwhile, we are fangirling hard over both of these legendary ladies in entertainment! After watching the magical moment go down, Celeb Secrets host Juliet Schroder chatted with McRae on this epic interaction. McRae shared that the conversation between her and Barrymore was “just wild.”

“I am a huge fan of her,” McRae said. “I mean that’s just wild. That’s really crazy. I didn’t even know she knew who I was so that’s crazy.”

McRae explained that beyond Barrymore, she is sometimes shocked to realize how many fans listen to her music.

“You sometimes forget that people actually listen to your music and like it’s when you see the in-person connection.”

Getting a bit of praise from Barrymore may go down as a “pinch-me” moment for McRae and it wasn’t her only “pinch-me” moment from the night! Speaking on what it was like to take the stage at Madison Square Garden, McRae shared that it “feels not real at all.”

“I had one of those moments where I was like standing on stage and just like hearing people scream back my songs, I was gonna burst into tears,” McRae said. “But I like held it together cause I’m like, ‘You can’t do that,’ but it was wild.”
