After the announcement of an Animal Crossing and Build-A-Bear collaboration last month, fans highly anticipated a variety of their favorite villagers, only to be met with disappointment when the collection dropped today (April 6th).
Fans either woke up or coordinated their daily schedules surrounding the initial drop of the collection and waited up to an hour in the waiting room to discover that Animal Crossing’s main mascots, Tom Nook and Isabelle, were the only two plushies available to order.
While Tom Nook and Isabelle are extremely cute, fans believe that the two characters have enough merchandise and the other iconic characters of the video game deserve more recognition. Others have been comparing this release to Pokémon’s first release with Build-A-Bear when they only released Pikachu and then, later on, revealed more Pokémon along the way, hoping that it’ll be the same with Animal Crossing.
The letdown caused fans to react on Twitter with funny memes to cope with their disappointment and, of course, we had to share some of our favorite ones!
