Season 25 of The Bachelor has been a bumpy ride for Bachelor Nation. The drama continues into ‘hometown’ week, but this time the excitement started hours before the world pressed play to watch Matt James meet the families of his final four ladies.
The Bachelor, Matt James took to Instagram on Monday, February 22 to address the recent controversy surrounding frontrunner Rachael Kirkconnell. Now, If you haven’t been keeping up with Bachelor nation drama, Kirkconnell was recently accused of being a racist, after photos resurfaced of her at an “Old South” antebellum-themed party back in 2018. Ever since the images have circulated and caused an uproar, the contestant shared her own statement via social media, as the leading man stayed quiet and iconic host Chris Harrison received flack for his poor statement on ExtraTV with Rachel Lindsay.
In the lengthy statement on social media, the first black bachelor verbalizes that the situation is “devastating and heartbreaking” and “incredibly disappointing.” James advises everyone to stay tuned because Bachelor Nation will hear more from him after the final rose🌹
“I will continue to process this experience, and you will hear more from me in the end,” says James on Instagram. “My greatest prayer is that this is an inflection point that results in real and institutional change for the better.”
