‘The Bachelorette’ Season 19 Episode 2 Recap: Gabby and Rachel’s First Dates

(ABC/Craig Sjodin) RACHEL RECCHIA, JORDAN V.

Rachel’s First Date

Each of the girls got their own one-on-one date this week, and Rachel was the first of the two to go! Rachel decided to take Jordan V. on her first date. The two shared a nice drive along the coast before it was revealed they would experience zero gravity in a plane.

Despite being a racecar driver, Jordan V.’s nerves were through the roof! Jordan V. shared his fear of heights and how he would feel more comfortable if Rachel was flying the plane. He ended up putting his fears aside as they took off on the plane. The two shared smiles, laughs, and even kisses as they floated around.

Later that night, Rachel was excited to get to know Jordan V. more as they explored their relationship over dinner.

Meanwhile, back at the house, drama was arising after Chris shared that if either of the women slept with someone else on Fantasy Suite Dates it would be a dealbreaker. Chris also shared his confidence in how he will be there until the final four. This rubbed many of the men the wrong way, and when they tried to address it with Chris, he retaliated by being condescending. The men decided to just drop it for the time being.

Things also seemed to be getting complicated back at Rachel and Jordan V.’s dinner date. Over dinner, Jordan V. was very vocal about his parents’ divorce and the burden that put him through. And although he shared his feelings, Rachel still felt as though something was missing. After shedding tears, Rachel knew she had to go with her gut and send Jordan V. home.

The date night ended with a somber Rachel in an empty theater watching country singers Brett Young and Ashley Cooke performing their chart-topping duet “Never Til Now.” You can read more about Ashley Cooke’s experience on The Bachelorette here.
