The Shocking Breakup – Gabby Sends Nate Home
At the beginning of the episode, host Jesse Palmer meets the bachelorettes amid views in Amsterdam, asking how they each feel about what’s next. Gabby emotionally expresses that it will be a big week for her and Rachel and doesn’t want to put family members in the mix during hometowns if there isn’t any serious potential.
For the one-on-one dates, Rachel chooses Zach, while Gabby chooses Nate. Despite Rachel’s up and down journey to finding love, she expresses that she feels there could be long-term potential with Zach. Gabby feels the same for her one-on-one with Nate, also keeping in mind that his daughter only amplifies the seriousness of being a potential wife and stepmother.
Tino expresses his disappointment in Rachel’s decision to give Zach the one-on-one date, acknowledging this being his second opportunity to have intimate time with Rachel. Logan boasts about his relationship with Gabby, only to be shocked when Nate is her date of choice.
Gabby’s one-on-one date begins with Nate running towards the bachelorette and kissing her, excited that he has been chosen for the date despite being sure he wouldn’t be.
Johnny and Logan discuss Nate may have been chosen due to Gabby pondering if being a stepmother is something she wants to do. With Nate being serious about his daughter, he’s not only looking for a wife but a mother for his daughter too. Due to the serious roles Nate needs Gabby to fill, Gabby’s team is hopeful that may send Nate packing his bags.
Gabby enjoys her time with Nate, stating how easy their relationship is, that she enjoys their time together and that she appreciates him seeing her for who she is. Even with her positive feelings about Nate and their time together, she brings to light again that she isn’t sure about being a stepmother and is unsure if it’s a commitment she’s willing to take.
Gabby sits Nate down on a bench, hesitant to confess her concerns about her and Nate being in two different places in their lives. Understanding that now is the time to let Nate know her thoughts, with time becoming more critical, Gabby expresses her doubts in tears.
Gabby continues expressesing to Nate that she feels his daughter is the luckiest in the world to have him as a dad, and despite that, she isn’t sure about taking on the role of motherhood, even though her feelings have gotten deeper for him.
Nate understands Gabby’s feelings and assures her that she will be a good mother when the right time comes. Nate leaves the date feeling somewhat blindsided as Gabby is unsure about her decision to eliminate him from her team.
