Back in March, Nickelodeon announced that our favorite starfish in Bikini Bottom, Patrick Star, was getting his own spinoff. Today, the network shared its first look and we can’t wait to watch this summer!
The new family sitcom, The Patrick Star Show, revolves around Patrick’s family and how they are always being disrupted by Patrick’s wild imagination and wild whims. In the animated series, Patrick will host his own show for Bikini Bottom from his very own television-turned-bedroom studio.
Debuting July 2021 in a 13-episode series, this show will be the second spinoff of the original SpongeBob SquarePants. Bill Fagerbakke will continue to voice the character throughout the series.
In the series, there will be new cast members to complete Patrick’s family. Cree Summer will play Bunny Star, Patricks sea star mom, as Tom Wilson will play Cecil Star, Patrick’s father. Jill Talley will play Patrick’s eight year old little sister, Squidina Star who is known for drinking coffee from her sip cup as Dana Snyder will play Patrick’s intelligent grandfather, GrandPat Star, who also does the voiceover for Grandma Tentacles in the original series.
The original main cast, SpongeBob SquarePants, Squidward Tentacles, Sandy Cheeks, Mr. Krabs and Plankton will continue to make their debut in The Patrick Star Show.
Developed by SVP of Animation Development’s Claudia Spinelli with co-executive producers, Marc Ceccarelli, Vincent Waller, Jennie Monica, production will be supervised by VP of Nickelodeon Animation, Kelley Gardner.
