The Houston Astros Are One Win Away From Winning the World Series After 3-2 Game 5 Victory Over the Philadelphia Phillies

Just moments after the Houston Texans were defeated by the Philadelphia Eagles in football; the Houston Astros stood up for their fellow hometown squad by defeating the Philadelphia Phillies 3-2 in game five of the World Series to take a 3-2 series lead; game six will take place on Saturday in Houston as the Astros look to win a title at home in front of their fans.

The Astros were led by nine-time all-star Justin Verlander, who gave up just one run and struck out six batters in five innings. Verlander won his first ring with the Astros in 2017 and did everything he could to earn another in his game-five outing.

On the hitting side for Houston, rookie shortstop Jeremy Pena led the way for the team, finishing the game with three hits and bringing in two of Houston’s three runs, one on an RBI single and the other one on a homerun.

The Phillies attempted a late-game rally in the bottom of the eight; however, they would leave the potential game tying-run stranded. Outfielder Kyle Schwarber hit a long ball for the Phills, but it was not enough, as they lost their second game in a row.

Game six will take place on Saturday at 8:03PM ET in Houston, with the Astros looking to win it all, and if the Phillies win, game seven in Houston will occur on Sunday night.

Don’t forget: The Philadelphia Phillies will face the Houston Astros SATURDAY, November 5th at Minute Maid Park in Houston beginning at 8:03PM ET/5:03PM PT on FOX.
