The Houston Astros Win the 2022 MLB World Series in 4-1 Game 6 Victory Over the Philadelphia Phillies; Rookie Sensation Jeremy Pena Named MVP

The Houston Astros are officially Word Series champs — again!

The MLB team defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 4-1 in game six of the 2022 World Series to secure their title.

Rookie shortstop Jeremy Pena was named MVP after getting at least one hit in each game of the World Series, with two of those hits coming in the series clincher.

Astros starting pitcher Framber Valdez had an outstanding outing in which he gave up just one run and two hits in six innings of work, including striking out the Phillies nine times; an absolute star-studded performance by the Dominican-born left-hander.

During the season’s final game, there was no scoring until the top of the sixth inning when Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber added his third home run of the series to give Philadelphia a 1-0 lead in a due-or-die game.

The Astros would respond immediately in the bottom half of the inning by scoring four straight runs on a three-run home run by Cuban slugger Yordan Alvarez and an RBI base hit by veteran catcher Christian Vasquez.

After years of hate towards the organization due to cheating in which the team partook, the Astros have now shown that they can win without cheating. This must be such a sigh of relief for those within the team that has been part of the team since the whole cheating scandal, and it must feel even better for their fans who have suffered a lot over the last few years due to their team’s poor actions.

Something of note: baseball legend and Astros manager Dusty Baker, who has been part of Major League Baseball since 1968 as a player and coach, finally has his World Series ring, which is heartwarming to see after so much dedication to the game he loves.
