Fischer is currently dominating the podcasting world with her The Office castmate and real-life BFF Angela Kinsey with the Office Ladies. Fischer joins the cast of the on-screen adaption of this Broadway favorite just days after Tina Fey shared that she and Tim Meadows would be reprising their roles from the original Mean Girls.

Fischer’s role of Mrs. Herron is the mother of the film’s protagonist, Cady Herron, who was played by Lindsay Lohan in the iconic movie and will be played by Angourie Rice in this music-filled adaptation. As for who played Mrs. Herron in the film, it was SNL fan-favorite, Ana Gasteyer.
Fischer, of course, is known mainly for her iconic role as Pam Beesly on The Office. Fischer has since started a successful rewatch podcast of her hit show alongside her co-star and best friend, Angela Kinsey, as previously stated. Fischer has no musical experience in her career, so it will be fascinating to witness her bring her musical ability into the world.
Mean Girls the Musical premiered on Broadway in 2017 and never looked back until its closing during the COVID pandemic. The original cast of this iconic play consisted of Emily in Paris’ Ashley Park, Girls5eva’s Grey Henson, and Kenan’s Taylor Louderman.
Some other notable cast members included Renee Rapp from the HBO Max hit The Sex Lives of College Girls and superstar singer/actress Sabrina Carpenter. Rapp will be playing the iconic role of Regina George in the upcoming flick.
All in all, this is an exciting cast choice, and it will most definitely have fans of The Office in their feels as their favorite receptionist returns to the big screen.
