The Weeknd, Maluma, CNCO and Roddy Ricch have been added to the list of performers for the 2020 MTV VMAs later this month!
The announcement marks the first “VMAs” performance for Roddy Ricch and second appearance by The Weeknd, who last took the stage in 2015. Each performer is nominated for awards this year — the Weeknd leads with 6; Roddy Ricch with 3; CNCO with 2 and Maluma with 1. Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga lead the pack with nine nods each, closely followed by Billie Eilish. You can view the full list of nominees here.
The talented group of performers join an already amazing lineup which includes previously announced BTS, Doja Cat, and J Balvin. And the one-and-only Keke Palmer is hosting, so the show is already shaping up to be HUGE! The screen-bending spectacle will bring audiences together for music’s biggest night and pay homage to New York.
Fans can vote for their favorites across 15 gender-neutral categories, including “Video of the Year,” “Artist of the Year,” “Best Quarantine Performance,” and more by visiting vma.mtv.com through August 23, 2020. Voting for “PUSH Best New Artist, Presented by Chime Banking,” will remain active into the show on Sunday, August 30, 2020.
