The Weeknd Takes To Twitter To Tease New Album That He’s “Really Proud Of”

The Weeknd has a new album on the way that he is “really proud of,” as he announced on Twitter last week.

The 31-year-old Canadian singer/songwriter not only confirmed that his fifth studio album is happening, but also hyped his fans up with a series of tweets regarding the new music set to be released sometime next year.

After completing a very successful 2020 year breaking records and winning endless awards for his hit “Blinding Lights” off his album After Hours, the man behind the magic has more in store.

“Really proud of this one. Wow…” The Weeknd tweeted yesterday (July 13).

He also shared more tweets adding, “we gettin’ there” and “the tour is gonna be MADNESS.”

Although he is just as excited as we are about this next piece of art, fans might need to be a little patient with this next project, as he is taking his sweet time producing it. Tweeting, “massaging it now, being sweet to it. giving it some tlc…,” he seems to be pulling another publicity stunt to keep his fans interested in his work.

The Weekend’s fourth studio album After Hours, as well as his LP “The Highlights,” stand at No. 2 and 3 on the top albums from the Canadian artist’s list. “Save Your Tears featuring Ariana Grande and “Blinding Lights” still stand at No. 1 and 3 on the Canadian artist songs list, respectively.

The Weeknd is constantly teasing his work in tweets, interviews, and acceptance speeches. As he mentioned in his acceptance speech at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, if his last record was After Hours, then that means that “the dawn is coming.”

With his tour plans being cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic, The Weeknd plans on rescheduling tours for 2022. By then, his album will be out and, and as he mentioned in his series of tweets, the tour will be “madness!”
