Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Fall to 3-5 After 27-22 Loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football

The struggles continue for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as the team suffered their third straight loss on Thursday Night Football against the Baltimore Ravens.

The game wasn’t the only loss of the night for Tampa as they also suffered the loss of all-pro pass rusher Shaq Barrett who suffered a torn Achilles and will miss the remainder of the season. The Ravens were able to get hot to start the second half and never looked back.

It has been a gloomy season for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, starting in the offseason with the departure of multiple offensive linemen, a coaching change, and various injuries to start the season. Tom Brady is now 3-5 for the first time since his rookie year; this is unprecedented territory for a Brady team. If the team still plans on competing for a title this season, many internal changes and adjustments must be made.

As for the Ravens, it was a very slow start for Lamar Jackson and crew; as they put up just three points in the first half; then suddenly, after being down 10-3 at halftime, they came out firing in the second half by scoring three touchdowns in a row. Two touchdowns were through the air, with Jackson throwing one to running back Kenyan Drake and the other to rookie tight end Isaiah Likely. Likely did a phenomenal job in the game stepping up in place of Mark Andrews, who played with an injury; Likely finished the contest with six receptions for 77 yards and the one touchdown.

The night’s final touchdown for Baltimore came on a 15-yard run by wide receiver Devin Duvernay.

Tampa ended with a nice drive that ended in an 8-yard touchdown pass from Brady to Julio Jones. Still, it was too late as their onside kick attempt was unsuccessful as the Ravens offensive hero of the night in Likely recovered the kick to secure the win for Baltimore.

After some blown losses to begin the season, the Ravens have secured back-to-back wins and will look for their third straight victory as they travel to New Orleans in week nine to take on the Saints on Monday Night Football.

The Bucs will look to get something going in week nine as they play host to the Los Angeles Rams in a playoff rematch.
