NFL quarterback Tom Brady is currently still playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but when he finally decides to retire (for real, this time), he’ll already have a job waiting for him — and a good one, at that.
FOX Corporation CEO Lachlan Murdoch announced Tuesday morning that Brady has agreed to join FOX Sports as the lead NFL analyst once he retires. He will call games with Kevin Burkhardt, who himself is replacing longtime announcer Joe Buck this season. Buck previously left FOX to sign a massive deal with ESPN.
“We are delighted that Tom has committed to joining the Fox team and wish him all the best during this upcoming season,” Murdoch said. “He will not only call our biggest NFL games with Kevin Burkhardt, but will also serve as an ambassador for us, particularly with respect to client and promotional initiatives.”
Excited, but a lot of unfinished business on the field with the @Buccaneers #LFG https://t.co/FwKlQp02Hi

“I think that’s excellent,” Buccaneers offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich said. “It’s crazy when you’re 45, you have to think of your next job when you’re still playing football, right? You have to do this early, right?”
Of course, we have no idea when Brady will join this new position, as he is still currently an active player in the NFL. Brady himself touched upon this in a tweet, stating that he’s “excited, but [there’s] a lot of unfinished business on the field with the Buccaneers.” But we do know that the contract will be worth $375 million over 10 years, so in case anybody was fearing how Brady would be able to support himself after his NFL career, this would be it.
