Happy Lunar New Year, fam!
The “Year of the Rat” is officially here, and Universal Studios Hollywood is helping everyone in Southern California celebrate with holiday-themed attractions throughout the park.
Decorated in customary red Chinese lanterns and stunning plum blossom wishing trees along with 12 zodiac animal signs and their symbolic attributes, Lunar New Year at USH is both a super fun and exciting time for park visitors no matter what cultural background they come from.
Celeb Secrets made a quick day trip to the park to get in on the excitement and we were far from disappointed. Upon arrival, our team stumbled upon the Hello Kitty gift shop — a frequent location Miss Kitty’s meet-and-greets — that was filled with holiday decor available for purchase.
As we continued to make our way through the theme park, we participated in a drawing demonstration, where we made our own drawing of Po, met Despicable Me minions and Mandarin-speaking Megatron, and watched traditional lion dances.
Our favorite part of the visit was stopping by Mr. Ping’s Noodle Shop from Kung Fu Panda, where we met Mr. Ping himself while enjoying authentic Asian fare.
Click through our gallery of photos from our Lunar New Year visit at Universal Studios Hollywood and make sure to stop by the park from now until February 9th to enjoy all of the festivities.
