Vella is kicking off 2022 with new music, and Celeb Secrets has the scoop on what to expect from it straight from the artist herself.
The teen singing sensation just dropped her highly-anticipated single “Out of Control” and it pushes her retro-inspired sound to new levels, showing off her vocal prowess and that she’s not just a one-hit-wonder.
“[‘Out of Control’] is one of my favorite songs I’ve written,” Vella tells Celeb Secrets in an exclusive interview. “I wanted to change it up a bit and incorporate some more R&B and Soul. My old stuff definitely had a more rock/soul type of feel. I’m also 18 and wanted to my music to reflect that and have a fresh feel to it, which lead to me modernizing my sound and style a little bit!”
“Out of Control” gives Vella the chance to showcase her signature tone on a much more current and modern record and to no one’s surprise, she does not disappoint. Pulling in some more R&B and soul elements in verses, “Out of Control” builds to a powerful and memorable chorus that will leave you wanting more.

Celeb Secrets: Hi Vella, Welcome back! We are so excited to chat about Out of Control. We love this song! This single feels like it is a little bit of a different direction than your previous releases. What can you tell us about the sound of this song compared to your last releases, and how you settled on Out of Control as your next release?
Vella: “Hey it’s good to be back and thank you!! Yes I’m so excited for people to listen to song. It’s one of my favorite songs I’ve written. I wanted to change it up a bit and incorporate some more R&B and Soul. My old stuff definitely had a more rock/soul type of feel. I’m also 18 and wanted to my music to reflect that and have a fresh feel to it, which lead to me modernizing my sound and style a little bit!”
CS: Will there be a music video for this single? If so, can you tell us a little bit about the creative direction behind it?
Vella: “I’m releasing this really cool lyric video! It’s definitely different from the music videos that I normally put out so I am excited for my followers to check it out. I also did an acoustic music video at the studio I normally record at and it was super fun! I can’t wait to share that version of the song.”
CS: You sound great on this record! It really feels like you are coming into your own. Have you noticed a difference in your vocal delivery from song to song? How has your recording process changed from song to song and do you have any advice on how to feel confident in the studio?
Vella: “Thank you! I definitely have noticed a difference from when I first started recording. I guess I would describe it as more laid back and just feeling more comfortable overall, which is really cool! In the studio I have learned a bunch of things while recording and one thing I will tell you is to not psych yourself out. Feel the music and go with the flow. Get in your own zone and you’ll be alright!”
CS: What can fans expect from you in 2022? Do you have any personal goals you want to accomplish this year?
Vella: “An Album! I’ve been working really hard on original music lately and I an really proud of the growth and direction my sound is going. I am so excited for you to hear them later this year! Also, I definitely want to do a little city tour for my fans! I love performing live and miss seeing all of you at my shows!
