Attention, shoppers! We’re only one day away from the season four finale of NBC’s Superstore and according to Lauren Ash, things are about to get crazy.
“Superstore season finales traditionally are very dramatic, there’s always something huge that happens, and always something that leaves the audience wondering ‘how are they going to get out of this situation’,” Ash, who plays Dina, told Celeb Secrets exclusively.
“What I can say is that the season four finale blows all of the rest of them out of the water. It’s so extreme, very dark, and I’m shocked that we did it to be honest, but I’m also really excited to see it because I know [the fans] are going to be as blown away by it as we were.”
In the two-part finale, Amy (America Ferrera) and Dina (Ash) visit Cloud 9 corporate to fix problems caused by Sandra’s (Kaliko Kauahi) misguided activism; Jonah (Ben Feldman) tries to sabotage an employee meeting; Garrett (Colton Dunn) tries to prove to his co-workers that he’s a good person.
It continues with “Employee Appreciation Day,” where Amy and Jonah find themselves on opposing sides as corporate tries to win over employees by showering them with treats; when the company’s tactics grow more extreme, everyone must band together to save one of their own.
Superstore is a critically lauded workplace comedy, which manages to keep viewers laughing while tackling the varied complex issues facing the American working class. Blessed with thoughtful storytelling and a gifted comedic ensemble lead by actor, director, and producer America Ferrera, it remains one of television’s most surprising and inspired comedies.
Celeb Secrets was on the red carpet at the series’ PaleyLive panel at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills earlier this month (May 4) where we spoke with the cast about what’s to come from upcoming episodes, the lessons they learned from working on Superstore and much more.
Make sure to catch the hour-long finale tomorrow, May 16th @ 8PM ET on NBC.
