Musical newcomer RZMRY takes on DNCE in her new cover video and we have to say — we’re totally loving her stripped-down piano version.
The Connecticut native covers the band’s latest hit “Toothbrush†which you can only watch exclusively on Celeb Secrets. She is a rising pop singer that makes catchy, dance oriented pop songs that is inspired by none other than Britney Spears.
“I’ve seen DNCE live and “Toothbrush” made me low key swoon, but at the time I had no idea I’d be covering it a month later,” RZMRY tells us. “I was in the studio to record something else and was talking about toying with “Toothbrush.” We pulled up this acoustic piano version, I got in the booth and the cover is a product of the raw emotion that I felt to the piano and the lyrics. It’s like I had no idea how deeply I connected to the song until I began singing it. When I got out of the booth my hands were shaking and once I heard it back I started crying and said, ‘I have no idea why I’m crying.'”
2016 is gearing up to be a breakout year for RZMRY as she just released her debut EP that showcases her eclectic, progressive, experimental pop.  Since introducing her voice to the world, RZMRY has been working hard on defining whom she is as an artist by fine-tuning her sound and embracing the qualities that make her voice unique.
“I think people who love the original song will also love my cover because it gives the song a different dimension. The dimension was always there; I just peeled its layers to reveal it. I sang “Toothbrush” from a new perspective, one where you want to be on a level that allows you to leave a toothbrush at your significant other’s place, but you’re afraid mentioning it will ruin the good thing you have going — I think there will be a lot of people who can relate to that,” RZMRY says.
