X Games Aspen 2026 Returns This January with a Re-Imagined Experience, Plus Performances From Alesso and Disco Lines

The lifts haven’t even started spinning yet, but the stoke for X Games Aspen 2026 is already sky high.

From January 23–25, the world’s most iconic winter sports and culture festival returns to Buttermilk Mountain, celebrating 25 years in Aspen with a high-octane mix of snow, sound, and spectacle.

This year’s edition features the long-awaited announcement fans have been buzzing about for months: global dance music powerhouse Alesso and Colorado’s own Disco Lines will headline the X Games concert lineup, turning Aspen into one of the hottest destinations on the winter calendar.

If you’ve been to X Games Aspen before, you know that the music is as big as the mountains. And this year’s lineup reflects the event’s growing cultural influence.

First up is Disco Lines, the Boulder-born DJ and producer whose name has become synonymous with feel-good dance music and chaotic internet energy. Known for viral hits like “No Broke Boys,” “Baby Girl,” and his beloved remix of Taylor Swift’s “Love Story,” he’s quickly gone from meme machine to major festival headliner.

2025 has already been a breakout year: his latest single “I Got You” hit the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Top 20, and his sold-out Red Rocks debut put a hometown stamp on his international rise.

“I’ve always been a huge fan of X Games, and Colorado is home,” said Disco Lines in a press release. “Getting to headline in Aspen feels right. Between the X Games energy and the mountain backdrop, it’s going to be one of those weekends you don’t want to miss.”

Saturday night belongs to Alesso, the Swedish superstar whose name is etched into the global EDM pantheon.

With genre-defining tracks like “Heroes (We Could Be)”, “If I Lose Myself”, and “Calling (Lose My Mind),” Alesso has headlined the world’s biggest stages—from Tomorrowland to Coachella. But X Games Aspen 2026 marks something different: a high-altitude celebration where action sports meet arena-style sound.

This year alone, Alesso became the first international recording artist to land back-to-back No. 1s on Billboard Dance Radio, launched his own label (BodyHi), and performed an orchestral-electronic remix of “Ascension” alongside GRAMMY-nominated cellist Tina Guo at the Esports World Cup Opening Ceremony.

“I’ve played some incredible stages around the world,” Alesso said, “but there’s something special about performing in the mountains at X Games. The combination of music and action sports creates a completely different energy. I can’t wait to be part of it.”

While the music gets louder, the snow gets steeper — and the athletes get even more elite.

X Games Aspen 2026 celebrates a quarter-century of iconic moments at Buttermilk, from Shaun White’s dominance in the SuperPipe to Chloe Kim’s first gold and beyond. And this year’s event brings over 100 of the world’s top skiers, snowboarders, and snowmobile riders to center stage.

Returning events include: Ski & Snowboard Slopestyle; Big Air; SuperPipe and Knuckle Huck as well as the long-awaited return of Snowmobile Freestyle and Snowmobile Speed & Style.

With Olympic-level talent and next-gen phenoms all in the mix, fans can expect another year of boundary-pushing tricks, world records, and unforgettable podium moments.

In a bold move that continues to make X Games one of the most accessible events in action sports, all daytime competitions remain free and open to the public. That means anyone can walk into the venue and witness history without a ticket.

Once the sun sets, Buttermilk morphs into a ticketed festival experience complete with night finals under the lights, live concerts from global headliners, immersive brand activations, interactive art installations and the debut of X Fest — a fan zone designed for maximum interaction

But that’s not all! The party continues long after the last medal is handed out, with X Games Music Week at Belly Up Aspen bringing nightly shows from top artists across genres. Expect intimate performances, surprise guests, and a lineup that rivals any club on the planet.
