Q&A: Jet Jurgensmeyer Reveals BTS Secrets from Adventures in Babysitting

For those who don’t know already, Adventures in Babysitting is a remake of the hugely popular 1980s film of the same name. In the movie, a dull evening for two competing babysitters, Jenny (Sabrina Carpenter) and Lola (Sofia Carson), turns into an adventure in the big city as they hunt for one of the kids who somehow snuck away.

Celeb Secrets had the opportunity to watch the film before anyone else last month and yes, its just as amazing as the commercials on Disney Channel make it seem! If you were thinking of DVRing it to watch later in the week, think again. Below are seven reasons why you should tune in to the world premiere on Friday night. Trust us, you do not want to miss this movie!

Adventures in Babysitting premieres this Friday, June 24th @ 8PM ET/PT on Disney Channel followed by the world premiere of the network’s new series Bizaardvark.

7: Sabrina Carpenter (Jenny Parker) and Sofia Carson (Lola Perez) team up as a dynamic duo, fighting crime, sneaking out, and living on the “wild side.” They even double up to sing the theme song of the movie, which we’re all already jamming out to! How could you resist?!

6: If you are a fan of the classic “Home Alone” movies, you will be sure to love this one! With a Home Alone vibe, a band of kids fight to escape the infamous bad guys similar to Harry and Marv.

5: Sabrina Carpenter (Jenny Parker) channels some role reversal techniques. We are used to her playing Maya from Disney’s Girl Meets World, with an edgy and dangerous flare. Jenny and Lola get into some sticky situations throughout the film, but they mostly result from Lola’s recklessness. It is interesting to see Sabrina Carpenter play a sweet girl, always following the rules and doing things by the book.

4: The up and coming boy band Forever in Your Mind, whose faces and voices may look and sound familiar from the Disney Channel original series Best Friends Whenever, sings a mashup of covers from your favorite DCOMs, starting with “Wild Side.” If you tune in to the premiere, you might just catch the boys singing the theme song during commercials. BONUS!

3: Disney’s Adventures in Babysitting is actually a remake. The original film was aired in 1987 as an American comedy, much like the new one! This makes Disney Channel’s newest DCOM one for the whole family, giving parents a chance to relive a classic movie with a modern twist!

2: CUTE GUYS! There is a bit of romance in the movie. Sofia’s character Lola goes for an older boy, who although sees her as somewhat of a troublemaker in the beginning, falls for her at the end. Lola’s daring attitude goes perfectly with her sweet police officer crush! As if that’s not enough, Sabrina’s character Jenny has a bit going on with Zac Chase, played by Bunkd’s Kevin Quinn. Both couples go on their fair share of ups and downs throughout the movie, but it’s all worth it.
