“Miami is a fun, dance-able song that really encompasses the story of two people who recently broke off their relationship,” Taylor told Celeb Secrets exclusively. “They’re redefining the relationship that they once thought was timeless but ultimately did not work out due to distrust and perhaps infidelity. The chorus hits home the fact that these two individuals are better off without each other but their stories are still intertwined.”
The singer/songwriter teamed up with Spencer Kane for the track and she shares that it was such a “great experience” working with him.
“I met with Spencer Kane last summer around the time Closer by the Chainsmokers and Halsey had been released. We were inspired by the male and female conversational voice and wanted to utilize that same song format,” Grey shared. “Working with Spencer and his producers Johnathan and David Thulin was a great experience; they are all such talented individuals. The song was written and recorded the first day we met and I think that we came up with a fun, vibey sound that hopefully people will enjoy.”
“Miami” is the follow-up to Taylor’s debut “Never Woulda Letcha” and is the second single off her debut album Space Case, which will be released this summer. Celeb Secrets had the opportunity to meet with Taylor recently to talk all about her upcoming music, which you can watch below…
With sounds that resemble Hailee Steinfeld‘s “Starving” and “Most Girls” with the male-female collab like The Chainsmokers and Halsey‘s “Closer,” “Miami” is a summer bop that will for sure keep you in a great mood whether you’re at the beach, on vacation, in the club, or out with your friends.
You can catch Taylor on the road with Jacob Whitesides on his Basically Happy Tour beginning June 15th in Houston and wrapping on June 26th in Vancouver. Keep up with Taylor by following her on Twitter at @iamtaylorgrey.
