If car-eography wasn’t already a thing, The Weeknd just made it a thing.
After he gave the Grammys major backlash for not receiving nominations and just dismantling their system as a whole, The Weeknd got his reparations tonight by winning 10 of the 16 awards he was nominated for, including the most prestigious honor of the night: Top Artist (beating out Drake, Juice WRLD, Pop Smoke and Taylor Swift).
Before that, the singer performed “Save Your Tears” from an empty parking lot in Downtown LA where he had a fleet of red and white cars plus some white semi-trucks choreographed to his music. There were many times that we were holding our breath hoping he wouldn’t be hit, so either they practiced a ton or The Weeknd just has an incredible poker face because man that was scary.
