The legendary Adam Sandler was honored with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor on Sunday, March 19. The Sandman took home the honor alongside his wife Jackie, his daughters Sadie and Sunny, and many loved ones at the Kennedy Center.

Sandler’s career spans over 30 years as the legendary funnyman is beloved for many movies, including The Waterboy, Happy Gilmore, Billy Madison, Grown Ups, Just Go With It, and many more. Sandler became just the 24th recipient of the prestigious award. Other Mark Twain Prize for American Humor winners include Steve Martin, Sandler’s former SNL boss Lorne Michaels, and his Big Daddy co-star, Jon Stewart, to name a few.
Many familiar faces were on hand to support Sandler, including his long-time pals David Spade, Rob Schneider, and Chris Rock and some of his on-screen love interests, such as Jennifer Aniston and Drew Barrymore.

Even with many beloved projects and this historic achievement, the Sandman is showing no signs of stopping as his next film Murder Mystery 2, in which he stars alongside Aniston, is set to be released on March 31 on Netflix.
Sandler’s most recent Netflix flick, Hustle, has been praised and celebrated by fans worldwide; Sandler plays an NBA scout in the film, and NBA player Juancho Hernangomez makes his acting debut in the basketball film.
