Aerosmith is canceling several residency dates after lead singer Steven Tyler relapsed.
The band made the announcement on their social media pages by explaining, “As many of you know, our beloved brother Steven has worked on his sobriety for many years. After foot surgery to prepare for the stage and the necessity of pain management during the process, he has recently relapsed and voluntarily entered a treatment program to concentrate on health and sobriety.”

In the post, the band continued to announce that they will have to cancel several of the first dates for their Deuces Are Wild Las Vegas Residency. The dates for the residency in June and July have all been canceled.
The band shared they will continue in September of this year and if any further updates come they will let fans know.
Tyler has been open with his struggle with substance abuse. The singer revealed in a 2019 interview with Haute Living his bandmates helped him to get sober in 1988.
Tyler shared in the interview, “So, I got sober and it took me many years to get over the anger of them sending me to rehab while they went on vacation. But today, because of that moment…I am grateful and owe a thanks to them for my sobriety.”
We wish nothing but a speedy recovery for Tyler. If you or someone you know is struggling with substance abuse, please contact the SAMHSA helpline at 1-800-662-HELP.
