After Seven Years, The Cure Announces 2023 North American Tour

The World-Renowned English Rock band is hitting the road once again.

The Cure have announced a 2023 tour of North America, starting their run in New Orleans on May 10. The tour is set to have 30 dates in total – including three dates each at Los Angeles’ Hollywood Bowl and New York’s Madison Square Garden. The band hasn’t played any North American shows since 2019, let alone done any tours in the region since 2016.

More recently, Robert Smith has made comments in reports suggesting the possibility of a new album, revealing that the working title was Song From a Lost World. The tour also just so happens to be called “Shows of a Lost World.” So it’s safe to say the possibility of a new album is more than likely. If there is a new album, it would be their first album in over a decade, with their last release being 4:13 Dream in 2008. Although a new album has yet to be put forth, Smith has still managed to collaborate with a handful of artists –  Gorillaz, remixing Chvrches, Deftones and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds earlier this week.

With the announcement of the new tour, which will include the support from Scottish pop-punk band Twilight Sad, the announcement also noted that the Cure has mandated that “there will be no ‘platinum’ or ‘dynamically priced’ tickets on this tour,” aside from a few Hollywood Bowl charity seats. This move goes against the grain of the current ticketing trend, which is face value tickets being bought and then being sold for quadruple the price, which includes cases like Taylor Swift, Harry Styles and more recently Bruce Springsteen.

Tickets will be made available via Ticketmaster Verified Fan Sale, which is open for registration now, on March 15. Be sure to register and let us know what song you’re most excited to hear on tour by sending us a tweet @celebsecrets.
