New Music Friday: Ariana Grande Hops on The Weeknd’s 2016 Smash Hit “Die for You” for a Very Special Remix

The collaborations featured on this week’s New Music Friday playlist are seriously unmatched!

While Chlöe and Chris Brown teamed up for a hot new track titled “How Does It Feel,” Ariana Grande hopped on The Weeknd‘s 2016 smash hit “Die For You” for a VERY special remix that is taking social media by storm.

On Tuesday (February 21st), Ari posted a mysterious video on TikTok, editing what looks like a new song. Fortunately, the text on the video gave fans a little bit of context into what was REALLY happening, stating that she “wrote and recorded a verse for [her] friend after a 14 hour day on set. This certain exception had to be made.”

Naturally, this sent fans into a frenzy, with everyone wanting to know which “friend” the chart-topping singer was referring to. The mystery did not last long, as The Weeknd quickly commented “⭐️🌙⭐️🌙⭐️🌙⭐️” on Ari’s post, ultimately squashing the rumors and implying that the duo had something in the works.

A collaboration between the two GRAMMY Award-winning artists is not out of the ordinary, as Ariana Grande and The Weeknd have teamed up for chart-topping tracks like “Save Your Tears,” “Love Me Harder,” and “Off The Table” in the past. We know that this new remix of “Die For You” will be yet another success for the ICONIC duo!

Chlöe, Chris Brown, Ariana Grande and The Weeknd are not the only artists that teamed up this week. Another notable project on this week’s New Music Friday playlist is Don Toliver‘s highly-anticipated third studio album titled Love Sick, with half of the tracks featuring some of today’s biggest stars.

The album consists of a total of eight collaborations, and every single one of them is sure to be a smash hit! James Blake is featured on “Let Her Go,” Lil Durk and GloRilla on “Leave The Club,” Kali Uchis on “4 Me,” TisaKorean on “Go Down,” Justin Bieber and Future on “Private Landing,” WizKid on “Slow Motion,” Charlie Wilson on “If I Had,” Brent Faiyaz on “Bus Stop” and Toro y Moi on “Cinderella.”
