It’s officially Friday, so you know what that means! New Music Friday is here with TONS of new songs, albums AND EPs from some of today’s biggest artists.
The highly anticipated film Avatar: The Way of The Water hit theaters today (December 16th), and it comes with a brand new soundtrack that fans are OBSESSED with! One of the most notable songs on this album is the very first track, “Nothing Is Lost (You Give Me Strength),” by GRAMMY Award-winning artist The Weeknd.
After his single “Earned It” was featured on the 50 Shades of Grey soundtrack AND his multi-platinum song with Kendrick Lamar “Pray for Me” made its way onto the Black Panther soundtrack, being a part of the Avatar: The Way of The Water soundtrack seemed right up The Weeknd’s alley.
Produced by Swedish House Mafia and Simon Franglen, this track was featured in a teaser trailer for the film, and it’s clear that fans were anxiously awaiting its release ever since. Staying true to The Weeknd’s sound but also perfectly capturing the essence of the film itself, we could not envision a better song to be included in Avatar: The Way of The Water.
While The Weeknd’s hot new track has been stuck in our heads ALL morning, “Nothing Is Lost (You Give Me Strength)” isn’t the only release on this week’s New Music Friday playlist that we can’t stop streaming!
Latto came out with “Another Nasty Song,” Juice Wrld with “Face 2 Face,” Pink Pantheress with “Take me home,” Måneskin with “LA FINE,” Flo with “Losing You,” Masego with “You Never Visit Me,” Clinton Kane with “AVO TOAST,” Michal Leah with “Used To It,” Russ with “Home,” elijah woods with “the way that we started (Taylor),” Max Drazen with “Not Because I Loved You” and more. We are obsessed with ALL of them!
With singles aside, there were some INCREDIBLE album/EP releases this week as well, including Leah Kate with Alive and Unwell (Deluxe), Little Simz with NO THANK YOU, Jacquees with Sincerely For You, Delaney Bailey with (i would have followed you) and more.
