Megan Thee Stallion is giving back to the community in a huge way. The GRAMMY award-winning artist announced on Wednesday (June 9), her plans to give a fully paid, four-year scholarship to a student who is looking to attend Roc Nation School of Music, Sports, and Entertainment at Long Island University.
In addition to this, Thee Stallion will also join the “Industry Expert Speaker Series” held by the university. She will serve as a guest lecturer for students while providing insight on her experiences within the entertainment industry.
In a statement, the rapper explained how important education is to her and why she decided to launch the scholarship.
“Getting an education is incredibly important to me. I still have academic goals that I want to achieve, so if I can use my resources to open doors and create opportunities for at least one student, then it’s a victory. It’s important that we encourage our students to pursue their passions and put them in positions to become the next game-changer in whichever fields they choose,” says the successful musician.
