Almost Monday Releases Sophomore EP ‘til the end of time’ (Listen)

almost monday just dropped their sophomore EP til the end of time!

The five-song EP is the perfect summer sound, as its full of upbeat tunes and beachy rhythms. If new music wasn’t already enough, Dawson, Cole and Luke made our Friday even better by sharing the title track’s official video, which is a comedic take on the song’s romantic lyrics.

The sweet clip offers the lead singer Dawson Daugherty delivering pizza and brutally traveling through deserts and oceans to get the savory treat to its destination. The video concept parallels the themes of the repeating lyric, “meet me on the other side, you and me, we’re taking flight…livе a thousand lives… ’til the еnd of time.”

The video serves a simple reminder that no matter how long the flight, how dry the desert, or how brutal of a journey, the hope is that our love upholds and will wait for us on the other side.

The rest of the EP was met with praise by many critics, starting with the first single “live forever” which was shouted out by Zane Lowe. Lowe personally world premiered the tune on his Apple Music Beats 1 radio show prior to its release.

Other fun songs off the record include “hailey beebs,” which coasts along on a downtempo groove wrapped in warm shimmering keys; “this is growing up,” which gallops from a danceable groove into the rush of an arena-sized hook, while “til the end of time” hops along on tambourine and a funky riff towards a bright and bold refrain. The EP closes out with a stripped-down version of “this is growing up.”

almost monday’s success did not come overnight. In the last year, the San Diego based alt=pop trio have garnered a growing fan base through “a combination of danceable rhythms and uplifting hooks.”

A press release paints the image of this journey, explaining that after countless garage jams, D.I.Y. gigs in the back of a surf shop, and innumerable hours writing together, almost monday bottle California sunshine in their funky bass lines, ecstatic choruses, and danceable grooves. It turns out the world needed some Cali rays during the pandemic as the band managed to emerge in 2020 with an unprecedented 30 million overall streams, uplifting audiences everywhere in the process. The San Diego trio—Dawson Daugherty (vocals), Cole Clisby (guitar) and Luke Fabry (bass)— crafted their 2020 debut EP don’t say you’re ordinary in Brooklyn and Los Angeles with producers Mark Needham (The Killers, Fleetwood Mac) and Simon Oscroft

Now that live shows are making their comeback, the group can put their talents on display. They are gearing up to hit the stage at some of the biggest festivals across the country, making their debut at Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, BottleRock, and Firefly
