If you’re looking for an Earth Day anthem that speaks directly to your heart while encouraging you to stand up for the planet, look no further than “Everything Can Change” — the stunning new track by alt-pop trio Nightly, featured on the Inspired By Jane soundtrack, which dropped alongside Season 3 of Apple TV+’s live-action children’s series Jane.
Released by Platoon, Inspired By Jane brings together five powerhouse artists — Bishop Briggs, Tash Sultana, Lily Meola, Leonie Biney, and Nightly — to amplify the message of environmental protection through music. The series itself is inspired by legendary conservationist Dr. Jane Goodall and follows a young environmentalist determined to save endangered species. Naturally, the soundtrack had to match the same energy: hopeful, heartfelt, and action-inspiring.
“It was a pretty quick yes for us,” Nightly’s Jonathan Capeci tells Celeb Secrets exclusively in a virtual interview. “The work of Dr. Jane Goodall and what this show is doing to share that with younger audiences just felt like such a worthwhile message to help spread.”
And Nightly didn’t just write a song — they immersed themselves in the message. “A lot of the inspiration for the lyrics came directly from quotes by Dr. Jane,” Jonathan shares. “It was really powerful to take those words and create something that could speak to both kids and adults.”
Sound-wise, “Everything Can Change” carries a dreamy, reflective tone — with a production twist that’s straight out of nature. “At the beginning of the song, you can hear this whooshing sound,” explains bandmate Joey Beretta. “That’s actually the only sound monarch butterflies make, when millions of them fly at once. It’s called a ‘waterfall.’ We built that ebb and flow into the production, and it became the heartbeat of the song.”
What’s even more impressive is how the band tailored their usual writing process to fit the Jane mission. Known for their emotional lyrics and alt-leaning pop sound, Nightly didn’t completely reinvent the wheel — but they did take a thoughtful turn in perspective.
The trio also brought their signature sincerity to the writing process, adjusting their usual perspective to a more universal “we” instead of “I” — a creative challenge they welcomed with open arms. “It pushes you to be better artists,” Jonathan says. “And it still feels like us, just a different shade of who we are.”
Even drummer Nicholas Sainato chimed in on how the process still felt natural. “It started like any Nightly song does — just jamming on guitar, bass, piano — but with a clearer goal in mind. We knew we were doing something bigger than ourselves.” And it shows.

Inspired By Jane is more than just an album — it’s a movement. Each song is a reminder of how deeply music can connect us to nature, from Bishop Briggs’ stirring “In Your Eyes” to Lily Meola’s country-tinged “Welcome Home,” and Leonie Biney’s serene, mom-inspired “Endless Day.” Tash Sultana closes the EP with “Ride,” a surf-ready anthem about protecting our oceans and reefs.
But Nightly’s passion for protecting the planet goes far beyond one track. On their last tour, the band partnered with Charity Water to spotlight global access to clean water.
“A lot of causes come across our radar,” Jonathan says, “and we ask ourselves: does this align with our values? Does it connect with our fans? When we learned about Charity Water, it was an easy yes. We take clean water for granted here, but so many people around the world don’t have that.”
Their Earth-conscious efforts even made it into their music merch. For their most recent album, the band created vinyl records using leftover, scrapped material that would’ve otherwise been thrown away.
“Each vinyl ended up being a unique color,” Jonathan shares. “It wasn’t just cool-looking — it served a purpose. It felt like a small but real way to reduce waste and do our part.”

Whether it’s exploring natural wonders like the Grand Canyon or soaking in the biodiversity of Costa Rica, the guys from Nightly stay inspired by the world around them — and want to inspire the next generation to protect it.
“You have way more power to create change than you think,” Jonathan says. “If one person — like Dr. Jane — can make such a huge impact, just imagine what a whole generation can do.”
That’s the spirit of Jane. That’s the message of Inspired By Jane. And that’s exactly what makes Nightly’s “Everything Can Change” such a standout moment on the Earth Day soundtrack we all need. So, whether you’re planting a tree, picking up trash, or just vibing out in your backyard, hit play on Inspired By Jane and let the music move you — one butterfly wingbeat at a time.
