Netflix has dropped the official trailer for their new film-adaption of Elizabeth Brundage’s horror-thriller novel, Things Heard & Seen, starring Amanda Seyfried and James Norton who play the married couple that moves from the city to an old farmhouse in the Hudson Valley. Everything seems to be fine at first but they soon realize that there’s something sinister happening in their home and things take a turn.
Based on Brundage’s novel, the film follows Catherine Clare (Seyfield) who’s pretty much forced to move from her 1980s life in grand Manhattan to a small, remote town in Chosen, New York, after her husband, George (Norton), gets a teaching job at a small Hudson Valley college.
Catherine tries to make the best of the move and begins to make changes around the old dairy farm, especially for their daughter, Franny. Instead, Catherine finds herself more alone and isolated as the film progresses, causing her to notice that something isn’t quite right about the house nor her marriage to George.
The film will be available to stream on Thursday, April 29, and is led by Seyfried, who received her first Oscar nomination for her work in Netflix’s Mank, and joined by Norton (Little Women), Natalia Dyer (Stranger Things), Rhea Seehorn (Better Call Saul), Karen Allen (Raiders of the Lost Ark), and Academy Award-winner F. Murray Abraham (Amadeus).
Things Heard & Seen was directed and written by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini with production by Anthony Bregman, Stefanie Azpiazu, Peter Cron, and Julie Cohen.
