For the final act of the night, an American country music vocal group from Poplarville, Mississippi took the stage – Chapel Hart. Made up of sisters – Danica Hart and Devynn Hart, and their cousin Trea Swindle, was the second gold buzzer act to take the AGT stage that night.

For their audition, the trio sang an original song called “You Can Have Him Jolene,” which is a response to Dolly Parton‘s 1974 hit “Jolene.”

After falling in love with the song, Chapel Hart felt inspired to write a response, as Danica says to Simon, “We cannot still be fighting over the same man! So, we decided to tell her, you can just have him, Jolene.”

The audition got everyone in the arena on their feet, chanting for more and begging the judges to hit the golden buzzer. And even though Simon, Howie, Terry, and Heidi had used up their individual golden buzzers, they decided Chapel Hart was so special, that they all contributed to a five-way golden buzzer for the girl group.

The quarterfinals gave Chapel Hart the opportunity to perform another original song, “The Girls Are Back In Town,” this time accompanied by flashing lights and fire. The country-rock banger kicks off with Danica singing solo, soon joined by Devynn and Trea with backing vocals and backup dancing. After two verses and a chorus, Trea breaks into a rap verse, with the audience erupting in applause and chants. The cheering only doubled in size once the girls finished their performance, once again bringing the audience to their feet.

After their golden buzzer audition, the pressure was ON for the girls to deliver another show-stopping act- which is exactly what they did. But how do you mentally and physically prepare for that after such an intense audition?

“I don’t know if you can actually prepare for it- of course, we do our rehearsals and stuff like that, but… honestly, the feeling you have in rehearsals versus the feeling that you get when you’re on-stage, it is a day and night difference,” Danica told Celeb Secrets. “The pressure cooker is cookin,’ okay?”

“We practice all week, we did a dry run on the stage when there’s no one in there. And then we got ready to come out… and it just blew my mind. Like, people standing up and waiting for us before we even started singing, and it kind of just turned into a Chapel Hart concert.” Trea added. “It’s hard not to have an amazing time whenever people are showing that much love.”

“Literally the biggest pressure was- this was our first time doing choreography in front of the entire world, ” Danica continued. “We had to really show our skill set tonight.”

And those skills were clear to not just us, but the judges as well. “My favorite [act] definitely was the aerialists, and Chapel Hart at the end,” said Heidi told Celeb Secrets. “I just love that girl power that they exude, the fun that they have. I feel like they keep us going with them.”
