Leave it to Baby Tate to give us the self-love anthems we never knew we needed… until now.
Her brand new mixtape Mani/Pedi dropped today (September 30th) on all music streaming platforms via Warner Records, and it’s said to “explore duality and the dichotomy of Baby Tate’s personality.”
“Mani/Pedi is more than just something you ask your nail tech for. It’s more than just R&B and Rap,” Baby Tate revealed in a press release. “To me, it’s a symbol of life. The yin & the yang, the good & the evil, the light & the dark. With this project, I hope to shed a light on the importance of duality and finding the balance within us all.”
With features from 2 Chainz, Kali and Slim Wav, this album is truly one of a kind, and you DEFINITELY need to go listen for yourself.

One of the most notable songs on the album is a track called “Dancing Queen,” which Baby Tate talked to us ALL about when we caught up with her at VidCon 2022 over the summer.
“‘Dancing Queen’ is a super fun record. I think that we can all see that dance is what we love, we all love to dance and express ourselves,” she shared. “It’s just one of those songs where you can do that — and I’m digging up all the dancing queens — but it’s also one that you can, you know, brag a little bit to get your ego up.”
“Dancing Queen” is yet another track that falls into Baby Tate’s niche of confidence-boosting, bad b***h songs, and we are OBSESSED with it.

Ever since Baby Tate was 13 years old, she worked INCREDIBLY hard on being the best singer, songwriter, rapper, producer AND engineer she could be. She rose to stardom after her song “I Am” with Flo Milli gained traction all over social media, highlighting themes of positivity and self-confidence.
When asked about how “I Am” came to be, Baby Tate revealed, “I was listening to a lot of different affirmations on YouTube, but they were all like kind of boring and slow… I wrote ‘I Am,’ the chorus, as my own personal affirmations, and then I told myself one day, ‘You know, I feel like this would sound good on a song,’ and it did.”
With lyrics like “I am healthy, I am wealthy, I am rich, I am that b***h” and “I am protected, well respected, I’m a queen, I’m a dream,” the track truly is an anthem for self-confidence, spreading positive messages in a catchy and memorable way.

While “I Am” is an AMAZING song, the success of the single was partially due to TikTok, where Baby Tate has amassed over one million followers.
“I love TikTok. I love how it really has revolutionized the music industry, you know, a lot of people are using it to reach different audiences that you might not be able to reach on different platforms,” she shared with us.
Just because her album just dropped, does not mean that Baby Tate will stop making new music any time soon.
When asked her dream collaboration, she responded with “I love Doja [Cat]. Doja [Cat] is, you know, a person that I really appreciate and respect in music, because in her life she’s listening to so much different music… Its not ever necessarily about like who this artist is, but it’s about the fact that like I just enjoy the song.”
Could we see Baby Tate and Doja Cat team up for a song in the future? Only time will tell!
