The face of ABC’s The Bachelor, Chris Harrison, has had enough with the harsh backlash and hired a high-profile lawyer to represent him amid the racism controversy involving contestant Rachael Kirkconnell.
Harrison has appointed power attorney Bryan Freedman, the same lawyer who represented Gabrielle Union during her recent disagreement with America’s Got Talent. Just last year, Union retained Freedman as a Lawyer after she got let go for expressing her concerns about the racism on set. Once NBC wrapped their own investigation and Freedman filed a complaint with California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing on Union’s behalf, the case was settled.
Now, the powerful attorney is allegedly taking on a new project – working with Harrison. As of right now, it is unclear if any legal actions have been taken against the franchise. However, a close friend of Harrison’s told Page Six on Friday, March 19 about conversations and moves happening on his end.
“Chris has had a spotless record for 20 years…He has always been the good company man, but, after the way he’s been treated by producers and executives over the past couple of weeks, he’s run out of cheeks to turn,” says the source during an exclusive Page Six interview.
“Now he’s ready, to tell the truth about how things really work over there – and he has plenty of evidence to back him up,” he adds.
Before taking a step back from working with the reality show, Harrison has hosted all 25 seasons of The Bachelor and all 16 seasons of “The Bachelorette,” leaving fans worldwide curious to hear what “evidence” he has up his sleeve.
Now, if you haven’t been keeping up with Bachelor nation drama, season 25 winner Rachael Kirkconnell was accused of being a racist after images resurfaced of her at an “Old South” antebellum-themed party back in 2018. Ever since the photos have circulated and caused an uproar, the contestant shared her own statement via social media, as iconic host Chris Harrison received flack for his poor statement on ExtraTV with Rachael Lindsay.
Ever since the career-shifting interview, Harrison apologized on Good Morning America for his racially insensitive comment and did not host season 25’s “After The Final Rose” special with Matt James. Harrison will not be hosting the upcoming 17th season, as former Bachelorette Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe will step in as guest hosts.
