When Caleigh Barnett stepped onto the stage at the Berglund Center in Roanoke last month, she wasn’t just representing Southwest Virginia as Miss Lonesome Pines’ Teen. She was bringing a massive, community-driven mission with her.
Competing in the Miss Virginia’s Teen 2026 pageant from June 24–27, Barnett has spent her entire journey fueled by a deeply personal question: “What would you do if you weren’t afraid?”
For Barnett, answering that question meant leaning heavily into her background as a national model and seasoned performer to take some major creative risks. During the talent portion of the state competition, she bypassed the standard pageant ballads for a gritty, powerhouse vocal fusion — singing the traditional words of “Amazing Grace” set to the unmistakable, soulful arrangement of “House of the Rising Sun.”
But while her stage presence caught the crowd’s attention, her work behind the scenes is what truly defines her tenure.
Barnett is the founder of The Rhythm & Relief Project, a community service initiative born out of her desire to merge a love for music with tangible philanthropy. Through a series of self-produced benefit concerts and local partnerships, Barnett has raised over $15,000 to combat food insecurity, aid veterans, and support families in crisis both across Virginia and on a national scale.
“Success isn’t measured by the crown you wear. It’s measured by the lives you touch,” Barnett tells Celeb Secrets. “If my journey inspires even one person to chase a dream they were afraid to pursue, then every step has been worth it.”

An operation with this many moving parts requires an elite village, and Barnett’s rigorous preparation was backed by a dedicated team of regional leaders, consultants, and sponsors. Her support network includes local director Natalie Williams, Eskew Consulting, The Clothes Tree, Teen Vibes Magazine, and Key Elements PR — all working together to amplify her voice and charitable reach.
Though the nationwide broadcast on PageantVision.com officially closed out her run as a finalist for Miss Virginia’s Teen 2026, Barnett is channeling that momentum straight into her next chapters. The Southwest Virginia native is already preparing to return to the state stage this July to compete in the Miss Virginia Teen USA pageant, but her focus extends far beyond the stage lights. Off-camera, she is aggressively scaling The Rhythm & Relief Project to a statewide level, with plans to expand her benefit concert footprint and mentor the next generation of young artists on how to use their unique talents for public service.
