Since 2017, Big Mouth has been spreading disgusting, hilarious and surprisingly educational content across the Internet.
The hit Netflix series isn’t going anywhere ー it’s been renewed for two more seasons at least ー but fans of Nick Kroll and Maya Rudolph’s hysterical performances as the Hormone Monster and Monstress will be overjoyed to learn that Big Mouth is getting a Netflix spin-off called Human Resources. The show, which does not yet have a set release date, will be a workplace comedy set in the home world of Big Mouth’s many creatures: Hormone Monsters, Shame Wizards, Depression Kitties and more.
In Big Mouth, these characters serve as supporting characters and sometimes antagonists to the show’s hormonal pre-teen protagonists. In Human Resources they will take center stage.
During a presentation for the Annecy Animation Film Festival, Nick Kroll, who is an executive producer on both shows, talked about his vision for the series. “You have these characters that represent a major force in the human condition,” he said. “The challenge has been that these characters don’t only function according to the one thing they do professionally … Building out the characters in that complex way has been a joy.”
This week, Netflix announced that Aidy Bryant, Keke Palmer and Fresh Off the Boat’s Randall Park have joined Rudolph and Kroll as series regulars. While Bryant and Palmer’s characters are still unknown, Netflix announced that Park will be playing a new creature, a “Logic Rock” named Pete.

“I felt like this part was written for me,” Park said during the Annecy Animation presentation. “I’m very logical, organized, clean. Pete does everything by the book like me.”
According to Mike Moon, Netflix’s head of adult animation, the series will somehow be “even edgier and adult-ier” than the already crude Big Mouth.
