Brenda Song and Macaulay Culkin are all grown up as they welcome a new baby into the world. Feel old yet?
The couple’s very first son, Dakota Song Culkin, was born at 1:10PM on April 5 in Los Angeles with a healthy weight just over six pounds, according to a report in Esquire.
While selecting the name, both stars decided they wanted to pay tribute to Culkin’s deceased sister who died in December 2008 after she was brutally struck by a car on the streets of L.A.
In the midst of honoring such a tragic accident, Song and Culkin admit their excitement for the baby’s new future is powerful enough to overshadow their grief of the past. “We’re overjoyed,” they revealed in a statement to Esquire.
Although we already knew this fan-favorite duo was expecting, the sudden announcement still took us aback.
When opening up about starting a family in early August of 2018, Culkin joked around with his typical light-hearted demeanor. To be honest, we weren’t sure whether he was just fooling around or telling us the straight truth.
“I’m gonna make some babies,” he dished nonchalantly while in conversation with Joe Rogan. “So this one’s a good one. I’m probably gonna put some babies in her, you know.” Uuuhhh . . . okay?
Our guess is that Song probably wasn’t swooning immediately after hearing that ~romantic confession~ from her boyfriend, but here they are two years later regardless.
Since her dramatic days as The Suite Life of Zack and Cody’s London Tipton, Song has been steering clear of any unnecessary personal drama by keeping the details of her love life low-key. We totally respect this brave call, but we just can’t contain our excitement this time!
After uniting on the set of Changeland in Thailand, Song and Culkin have practically been inseparable. As their relationship progressed fairly quickly, they eventually decided it was time to move in together.
While residing in their cozy home, the couple has already practiced the dynamics of parenting by caring for several pets–three cats, one dog, a blue-headed parrot and because that’s not enough, Esquire reports they even have several fish.
Based on some of the hilarious Instagram posts we’ve seen from these two, we suspect their home life is just as fun and upbeat as your classic family moment from Home Alone.
