Cheat Codes Transition Into Country Music with Genre-Bending Project “One Night in Nashville” (Listen)

Cheat Codes has officially gone country!

While the DJ trio has released dance, electronic AND pop music in the past, Cheat Codes, consisting of KEVI, Trevor Dahl and Matthew Russell, have put on their cowboy hats and boots and they are officially diving headfirst into the country music world.

When asked about what inspired the change, Trevor Dahl revealed to Celeb Secrets in an exclusive interview, “Since we started, we’ve always been wanting to be able to like, you know, dive in on different genres and work with different artists.”

“We’ve always been big fans of country music, and when the pandemic hit, we worked on a song that ended up being country with Little Big Town, and one song turned into a whole album,” Dahl continued.

This album is none other than One Night In Nashville, the band’s incredible 15-track project released today (January 27th) on all music streaming platforms.

Backstage this past September at the 2022 iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas, Cheat Codes gave us ALL of the tea surrounding their brand new album, as well as the special guests featured on the tracklist.

One Night In Nashville‘s tracklist is truly like no other, featuring some of the most iconic names in country music. With the exception of the band’s one solo song “Sippin,” this project is almost entirely collaborations.

Jimmie Allen, Lee Brice, Bryn Christopher, Dixie D’Amelio, Russell Dickerson, Adam Doleac, Lindsay Ell, Lady A, Little Big Town, Maddie & Tae, Dolly Parton, MacKenzie Porter, Nate Smith, Matt Stell, Mitchell Tenpenny and Brett Young are the special guests featured on the album, and the genre-bending trio gave us the inside scoop on what it was like working with some of country music’s biggest stars.

The trio gave fans a first look inside the project back in 2022 by releasing it’s debut track “I Remember” with Russell Dickerson.

When talking about their experience working with Russell Dickerson on the track, Dahl revealed “Russ is probably the coolest guy we’ve ever worked with. He’s the most down to earth, super chill, just very real, so we love that.”

The song made waves on streaming and social media platforms, leading into the release of a special remix that featured none other than Dixie D’Amelio.

The band touched on their experience working with Dolly Parton for the track “Bets On Us” as well, another one of the album’s hit singles.

“I mean, she’s a queen. She’s THE queen. I mean, she’s a legend. She’s been doing this for a long time, so the fact that, you know, she’s willing to hop on our album was a huge stamp of approval, and we’re super grateful for it,” Dahl shared.

“We’re always touring, so we’re playing like every weekend different, you know, cities and different countries, whatever,” Trevor Dahl shared. “We’re gonna hopefully do an appearance at a Stagecoach which will be really cool, and then we’re doing some country-based shows in Vegas and all sorts of stuff.”

Hopefully the DJ trio plans to bring out some special guests on tour for a surprise cameo! Only time will tell.
