The United States Men’s National Soccer Team has turned eyes and impressed millions throughout the first round of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar; with that said, the team has impressed soccer fans once again with a 1-0 win over Iran to advance to the round of 16.
The USMNT came out firing and ready to win with a tremendous first-half performance against Iran. The team was led by a superstar performance from their captain Christian Pulisic; Pulisic made an acrobatic goal to give the USMNT a 1-0 lead in the 38th minute of the contest.

When attempting that kick, Pulisic, unfortunately, suffered an abdominal injury that kept him sidelined for a little while, and he later returned to finish the first half.
However, when the second half began, there was no sign of Pulisic, therefore signifying he was not healthy enough to finish the match.
With that said, Pulisic’s teammates were able to rally together in the second half to finish the deal without their leader. It was also a standout game for goalie Matt Turner who has done an unbelievable job thus far in the World Cup.
Also stepping up considerably was midfielder Weston McKennie and defender Antonee Robinson.
Next up for the USMNT will be a matchup against the Netherlands. The Netherlands finished first in the group stage with a 2-1-0 record after defeating Senegal and Qatar. The teams will face off on Saturday, December 3, at 10:00AM ET on FOX and Telemundo.
As for Pulisic’s injury status, the midfielder was in good spirits and assured everyone that he will play on Saturday after posting on social media following the game.
