Clairo is giving fans more information about her upcoming sophomore album, Sling.
On Wednesday (July 7), the singer posted the tracklist for the album to her social media platforms. The album will feature 12 songs, including her most recent single, “Blouse.” Additional song titles are “Bambi,” “Amoeba,” “Wade,” “Harbor,” and “Little Changes.” She also has a song named after her dog, Joanie.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Clairo, also known as Claire Cottrill, opened up about how the making of Sling impacted her life. She said, “Everything’s clicking as to why I’m so happy here (the studio), and so unhappy in other places. This record has changed everything for me, because I was fully going to quit music.”
Producer Jack Antonoff, who Cottrill worked with on Sling, praised the singer in the interview. He said, “One thing that’s particularly interesting about Claire is her lack of armor. She has this incredible toughness through sensitivity. She’s just open to it all.” Cottrill recounted the story of the first time they met — stating that she cried the whole time because she had never felt so understood by someone.
Cottrill feels content as she reflects on how much she has learned and grown since her first album Immunity came out. “I started to actually act on the things that I always meant to do,” she continues. “I always wanted to make a record that sounded like Sling, so we did Sling. It feels like it’s such a nice release to remember that I listened to myself.”
Back in June, Cottrill released “Blouse” and announced her upcoming album. She debuted the live performance of the song on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. You can check it out here.
