CNCO is starting the year off strong with a brand new single called “Party, Humo y Alcohol” and we can’t get enough of it.
Translated to “Party, Smoke and Alcohol” in English, the Latin GRAMMY-nominated quartet released the fun new track on Thursday (January 13), introducing their fans — aka the CNCOwners — to their new sound.
Instead of the typical reggaeton music we are used to hearing from the guys, the listener is given an electric beat from the moment the song starts. Not only does their shiny, silver cover art give us a disco vibe, but also it debuts the new era the band has been teasing for months.
CNCO co-wrote “Party, Humo y Alcohol” with Hv. Kairo La Sinfonia, who also helped produce it. The song definitely takes on a more “grown-up” approach that previous releases, but the guys stress that its not all about partying, smoking and alcohol.
The band tells Celeb Secrets exclusively, “the inspiration for the song came from a woman’s point of view when a relationship comes to end or she is broken hearted, we want to share their story and make them feel empowered.”
CNCOwners got a two-for-one this week, as the guys dropped the accompanying music video moments upon the song’s release, In “Party, Humo y Alcohol,” Zabdiel de Jesus, 24, Richard Camacho, 24, Christopher Velez, 26, and Erick Brian Colon, 21, each portray their own personalities in this 1980s-inspired shoot by wearing head-to-toe metallic outfits.
The group recently celebrated their sixth anniversary, with their new era officially launching after the release of “Toa La Noche,” which they debuted on Univision’s Premio Lo Nuestro.
