CS4U had the chance to chat with Dakota in between his hectic schedule! In our interview, Dakota talks about being apart of the High School Nation’s fall tour, interacting with the students, his new music, and a behind-the-scenes secret about touring! Read our exclusive Q&A with Dakota below.
You were recently on the road with Drake Bell, Bean, and Jacob Latimore for the High School Nation’s fall tour — what was it like being on tour?
Being on tour was an incredible experience! I got to play my music every single day for a crowd of students ready and willing to soak it all up. I made some cool new friends on the road, wrote some awesome new music with everyone that was on the tour, and jammed a few times with Drake Bell on stage. It was the best six weeks of my life.
What did you share with the students when the tour visited the school?
The cool part of the High School Nation tour was the fact that when we got to the schools they set up a camp with lots of educational booths and activities. Every day we had a Q&A with the students and it was my favorite part of the day. That says a lot because I love to perform live, but getting to talk with the students and hear about all of their dreams was really inspiring.
Do you have any new music coming out soon?
I’m writing and recording new music right now! My producer, Byron Gallimore, and I, are working on picking the best songs and I expect to have a new single out in the new year.
Since our website is called CelebSecrets4U, can you share one secret about being on the road?
One secret about being on the road that fans would be surprised to know is that we artist have to write the name of the city on the our playlist, because most of the time we have no clue where in the country we are. It’s not that we don’t care where we are, it’s because after months on the road sometimes we can get a little lost!
