Legendary actor Danny DeVito is set to bring his talents to Broadway. DeVito will be performing alongside his daughter, Lucy DeVito in I Need That.
I Need That is a play centered around an introverted man named Sam (Danny DeVito) who is left with the decision of what to keep in his house and what to throw away after he receives a letter from the government threatening eviction. No specific dates have been announced for the show, but it is scheduled to premiere at the American Airlines Theatre sometime in October.DeVito is known for many iconic projects such as Taxi, Twins, Batman Returns, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, to name a few. The beloved actor will be performing in his ninth career Broadway/Off-Broadway show. DeVito’s first show was an Off-Broadway production called Shoot Anything With Hair That’s Moving, which took place in 1969. His most recent performance took place in 2017 in The Price which took place at the same theatre that I Need That will be performed at.
As for Lucy, she is known for her role as Chrissy in the animated series Little Demon, Sue in Deadbeat,and as Miss Greenstein in the 2009 dramedy Leaves of Grass.
It will be very special to see this beloved father-daughter duo perform together on the Broadway stage.
