After announcing her four-part YouTube docu-series, Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil, last week, Demi Lovato starred as a guest on The Ellen Show and discussed the new project, her new haircut, performing at the Presidential Inauguration, and going skydiving for the first time.
The artist went on the show, sporting her hot pink shaved hair cut, which DeGeneres immediately took notice of and complimented her on.
Lovato told the talk show host that she decided to cut her hair in November of last year after realizing she used to hide behind her hair to cover her body in her past, especially when she was recovering from her eating disorder. She also says that it was something that she had been holding onto her whole life that she needed to let go of.
“I feel more free and I feel more authentic to who I am,” she tells DeGeneres, “I feel more myself now.”
Later in the interview, Lovato and Degeneres talk about her new docu-series releasing on March 23rd and how transparent she is based on the trailer alone.
Lovato divulges more into the topic, discussing how we live in a world where nobody is perfect, and how role models should not be painted as perfect people. She tells DeGeneres that she wants to be a role model that people can learn from who have gotten through their deepest, darkest struggles and are getting through them.
