Reynie, Sticky, Kate and Constance are officially coming back for another dangerous mission to save the world, as Disney+ announced today (September 28) that The Mysterious Benedict Society has been picked up for a second season.
According to Disney+, season two picks up as the team of four intrepid orphans reunite a year after their first mission, when they were assembled by Mr. Benedict and his cohorts to foil the nefarious “Emergency” created by Benedict’s twin brother Dr. L.D. Curtain. Now they must embark on a perilous journey, relying on wits, intellect, and empathy to try to try to stop Curtain as he shifts to a new strategy with global implications.

Based off the best-selling book series by Trenton Lee Stewart, The Mysterious Benedict Society follows four orphans, who after winning a scholarship competition, are recruited by the peculiar Mr. Benedict for a dangerous mission to save the world from a global crisis known as The Emergency. Reynie, Sticky, Kate, and Constance must infiltrate the mysterious L.I.V.E. Institute to discover the truth behind the crisis. When the headmaster, the sophisticated Dr. Curtain appears to be behind this worldwide panic, the kids of “The Mysterious Benedict Society” must devise a plan to defeat him. The cast includes stars such as Tony Hale as “Mr. Benedict” and “L.D. Curtain,” Kristen Schaal as “Number Two,” MaameYaa Boafo as “Rhonda Kazembe,” Ryan Hurst as “Milligan,” Gia Sandhu as “Ms. Perumal,” Mystic Inscho as “Reynie Muldoon,” Seth B. Carr as “George “Sticky” Washington,” Emmy DeOliveira as “Kate Wetherall” and Marta Kessler as “Constance Contriare.”
The first season of the show received a 86% critic rating and 83% audience score according to Rotten Tomatoes and will begin production in 2022.
