ABC has recently announced that its new TV show Dr. Ken has been picked up for another 9-episode season reports say. Dr. Ken is one of the first series to be picked up by ABC for a second season this year.
The show premiered on October 2, 2015 and stars Ken Jeong, who plays the lead role of Dr. Ken Park. In the show, Dr. Ken is a frustrated doctor who is trying to balance his hectic career, marriage, and his family.
The show is lightly based on Dr. Ken’s real life. Ken Jeong is actually a doctor who graduated with his M.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill who is married to a doctor and has two kids. However, this show is far from the real deal as Dr. Ken is often times joking about his patients’ conditions and offering misdiagnoses in this comedy series.
