Thaliah and Jamie Talk New Twist Behind MTV’s Latest Installment of “Ex on the Beach: Couples” (Exclusive)

MTV is back and better than ever with a brand new twist on their hit show Ex on the Beach!

With drama at an all-time high, the Ex on the Beach spinoff — Ex on the Beach: Couples — is truly a must-see.

According to the network, the series, which aired its premiere episode on Thursday (February 9th), follows six ready-for-marriage couples, Ben and Jade; Jamie and Thailah; Jake and Holly; Liam and Leila; Sorinn and Lola; and Spari and Layla, who need to decide whether to propose or go their separate ways.

There is just one problem – each couple has a lingering ex that might have plans to foil their engagement, ultimately leading to trouble in paradise.

In Ex on the Beach: Couples, each duo competes in a wide range of intense challenges to their relationship, as well as strength building exercises, ultimately concluding with an engagement in the final episode.

Will the show be the beginning of a beautiful future, or the end to some couples we will grow to know and love? You will need to watch for yourself to find out!

Celeb Secrets reporter Melanie Rooten sat down with Thailah and Jamie, one of the show’s six couples, for an exclusive interview, where they spilled TONS of behind-the-scenes secrets surrounding Ex on the Beach: Couples.

According to MTV, “Jamie, aka J Dragon, first met fellow DJ Thailah at a party and instantly knew she was the one. Their relationship became intense quickly and they eventually moved in with one another. While everything was seemingly on a high note, Jamie then asked Thailah to be in an open relationship. That decision brought up a lot of jealousy because Jamie thinks that Thailah is too flirtatious.”

Charlie, Thailah’s ex, doesn’t believe that she wants to be in an open relationship and hopes to be the one that saves the day for Thailah,” paving the way for a VERY interesting storyline as Charlie enters the show…

When asking the duo about the new couples twist, Thailah shared with us her thoughts, revealing that MTV is “spicing it up a lot by throwing couples into the mix.”

“I mean, I’ve watched Ex on the Beach previously, and when we heard the idea of throwing couples in, at the same time it did feel quite right, because, you know, there’s always, sometimes in relationships like exes do come up, so yeah, it’s kind of bringing all aspects together,” she said.

“It was the perfect place to see if we could commit to each other, to take our relationship to that other stage… We thought about it and we said, ‘Yeah, it’s perfect timing,’ so that’s why we went ahead with it,” Jamie added.

While Ex on the Beach: Couples is technically a relationship show, it is clear that the cast got very close with one another, with both Thailah and Jamie sharing that they developed a strong friendship with Holly throughout the duration of the show.

“I probably got the closest with Holly, because me and Holly really got on and we felt like we was in the same boat,” Jamie said. “We was going through the same emotions. We was almost each other’s therapist to make sure that we don’t go a little bit coo coo.”

Thailah chimed in and shared, “Funnily enough, I would say Holly as well. Me and Jamie got on really well with her, but I also have to say Ben, because he was just so hilarious. He was a fellow Brit, so yeah, we really clicked.”
