Emma Watson Shares Her Thoughts After Hogwarts’ 20th Anniversary Special

In 2001, the world was introduced to Emma Watson and her character Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter franchise.

It never crossed our minds what big impact that smart little girl would leave behind, and now two decades later, HBO Max lets us travel to the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts with a reunion special on New Year’s Day (January 1).

The chamber of secrets opened up, allowing fans and actors to relive special moments from the Harry Potter films. They enjoyed waltz dances in the Great Hall and told stories of their beloved costars that are no longer with us. Emma told heartfelt stories while being in the Gryffindor common room with Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley).

“It was emotional and also intense to have such an intimate moment so closely watched,” she said. “Mostly I was just so happy to have a mediator who could ask us these questions and get to be part of seeing how differently – and similarly – we had processed things. I love that we remembered different things.”

In an exclusive interview with Vogue, Watson opened up about the first time she became aware of Harry Potter castings. The then 10-year-old’s parents were very worried when she auditioned since she really wanted to be a part of this project.

Getting really personal with Vogue, Watson opened up about what it was like after getting the part that would last for eight blockbuster films. She also shared how she “fell in love” with Tom Felton, who played the mischievous Draco Malfoy, which caused many fans to react. She found the fans concerns really “sweet” and says that she still speaks with Felton “most weeks.”

While we have seen Watson in films such as Beauty and the Beast and Little Women in recent years, the actress shows no signs of slowing down when it comes to new projects. She didn’t disclose what 2022 might have in store, but she did say that its something we will have to wait and see.
